While this film may appear to be a light-hearted comedy, the central message definitely goes deeper. Ted triggered an emotional reaction that allowed the audience to feel the friendship through laughter and tears.
Mark Wahlberg did a fantastic job, considering that he was talking to a green screen during most of the film. His interaction with an animated character came to life. The fistfight scene between John and Ted was especially lifelike. The animators did a fantastic job. Although Ted lacked filmmaking merit and may have been overshadowed by Magic Mike, released the same day, Ted never failed to entertain in the most grotesque manner.
If you are looking for Family Guy -like comedy, Ted is definitely the film for you. If you think Family Guy kills brain cells, you may say the same for Ted.
